Noah Centineo, star of To all the boys I’ve loved beforenow plays the role of a CIA agent in The recruita dramatic spy thriller.

The recruit is an upcoming Netflix spy-adventure television series directed by Alexi Hawley. Noah Centineo has been the young idol of many moviegoers since the success of the Netflix original trilogy To all the boys, and seeing him in an action thriller is sure to delight fans. Netflix acquired this spy drama in April 2021 and production began under Entertainment One. The series would have been filmed in Montreat, Los Angeles, Quebec and California, ending on March 28, 2022.


Anyway, given how excited fans are, here’s everything we know about Netflix’s upcoming spy adventure series, The recruit.

The rookie: plot

According to the official trailer released by Netflix, the story follows Owen Hendricks, who joins the CIA as a lawyer expecting to enjoy a typical first day at the office, but his first week gets off to a bad start. When the CIA receives a letter from a former agent, Max Meladze, threatening to release agency secrets unless she is exonerated of a serious crime, Owen Hendricks is assigned to it.

Owen embarks on a journey in hopes of accomplishing the mission and making a mark on the CIA despite his lack of expertise in such operations and adverse circumstances. However, the stakes are high in this game, and he may end up in a murderous political world ruled by shady personalities. How will the rookie manage the interesting evolution of his career and what secrets will he discover during this perilous journey?

Although the premise seems quite amusing and typical, the trailer for the series implies the opposite. The trailer oozes suspense while maintaining its witty narration with hilarious remarks. Even though the anticipation for the series was high before, it only increased after watching such a well-crafted trailer.

The Rookie: Cast and Crew


Besides its intriguing premise and Netflix trademark, Noah Centineo, main actor of the series, is one of the main reasons for its high standards. Owen Hendricks, a charming and unfortunate lawyer who ends up in many escapades, is played by him. Noah Centineo is a well-known actor who has starred in movies and TV shows such as The Fostersthe To all the boys trilogy, charlie’s angelsand black adam. Laura Haddock plays Max, the convicted prisoner who threatened the CIA with the letter. She is best known for her appearances in guardians of the galaxy, Transformers: The Last Knightand white lines.

Along with the main cast, Netflix revealed the series’ guest cast. Xander will be played by Byron Mann, a Hong Kong-born American actor best known for his roles in street fighter, The man with the iron fistsand Wu Assassins by Iko Uwais. Angel Parker, who previously starred in American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, Catherine Wilderand the Marvel action series Runaways will play Dawn. Linus Roache and Kaylah Zander will assume the roles of Senator Smoot and Amelia, respectively.

It should come as no surprise that most of the film’s outstanding work is credited to the production team. Doug Liman directed the series, which was produced by Entertainment One, Hypnotic and P3 Media. Liman’s earlier work includes edge of tomorrow, Mr and Mrs Smithand Swingers. As executive producer and lead writer, Alexi Hawley created the series. Hawley is a well-known producer and writer with credits in films and television shows such as The recruit, Exorcist: the beginningand What follows. Jordan Gagné, who previously worked on Star Trek: Discovery, The recruitand Brave New World, composes the music, while Pierre Jodoin takes care of the cinematography.

As officially announced by Netflix with a trailer, The recruitan upcoming series of spy adventures, will be published on December 16, 2022on its platform.

Even if you haven’t watched any of Noah Centineo’s previous films, there are enough elements in the movie that should pique your interest. For example, the creator, Alexi Hawley, has a long track record of success and how effectively the series has been created as a whole based on the trailer. The recruit shares a similar feeling to james bond classics while maintaining its distinct look and offering plenty of fast-paced action sequences.

With just a month to go until the series is released, there is a lot of speculation as to whether it will live up to fan expectations. Hopefully Noah Centineo’s performance contributes to the show’s success and recognition as one of Netflix’s best spy adventure shows.
