Netflix and Dark Horse extend first-look film and TV partnership for multi-year deal AIPT

Netflix and Dark Horse Entertainment have extended their creative partnership for several years. The two teamed up in 2018 to create stranger things comics. This new deal will give Netflix a first look at Dark Horse IP for film and TV, with their most recent collaboration being The Umbrella Academy.

Along with this news, Dark Horse has listed all the projects in development at Netflix. These include series like Bang!Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres’ action spy thriller, which stars Idris Elba, mind managementand a series of eight episodes for Grendel.

Dark Horse has made strides in the industry this year, the biggest being acquired by Embracer Group AB which promises to leverage its intellectual property for transmedia creation. Some have pointed out that Embracer Group AB has a connection to the video game industry which could be extremely profitable for both companies, for example.
