IP Man 4 Trailer Pits Donnie Yen Against Scott Adkins

Two icons of martial arts cinema will get started, like Donnie Yen (A thug) and Scott Adkins (strange doctor) will be trading blows in the upcoming fourth installment of Yen’s hit franchise IP Man. Now the first IP Man 4 The trailer is out and you can watch it above!

Ip-Man chronicles the life and exploits of Ip Man (or “Yip Man”), a true martial artist who was a legendary teacher of the Chinese martial arts form known as Wing Chun. He has mentored many world famous martial artists, including Bruce Lee, who will be featured again in this film, played by IP Man 3 star Kwok-Kwan Chan (who also played Lee in the Legend of Bruce Lee TV shows. The plot will bring Ip Man to America and will clearly have a strong US military influence in its storyline. That, along with American martial arts movie star Scott Adkins, should give this installment of the series even wider international appeal, which is a smart strategy, given that Ip-Man earned bigger and bigger box office returns with each new installment ($21 million, $49 million, $157 million, respectively), as well as Donnie Yen’s growing presence on the Hollywood scene.

Also back for IP Man 4 is Yuen Woo-ping, the famous martial arts film choreographer whom American audiences know best The matrix trilogy and Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill movies. As fans know, Yuen Woo-ping’s action designs are second to none, which probably helped IP Man 3 to score big at the box office – although appearances by Mike Tyson and Ip Man’s rival film actor Zhang Jin didn’t hurt either. The yen goes down IP Man 4 at an opportune time in his career: the actor will next have the chance to impress American audiences as Commander Tung in Disney’s live-action Mulane next year, while we are still talking about his star wars Fan-favorite character Chirrut Imwe may reappear, at some point.

Synopsis: The Kung Fu master (Donnie Yen) travels to the United States where his student (Scott Adkins) has upset the local martial arts community by opening a Wing Chun school.

IP Man 4 does not yet have an official release date in the United States.
