Chow Ching-chuen (Simon Yam)
The boss of a Foshan cotton mill factory, Chow Ching-chuen knows nothing about wushu but is a great friend of Ip Man. Chow often pleads with Ip Man to teach his beloved son Kong-yiu Wing Chun. During the Japanese occupation, Chow insists on keeping his factory going for the sake of his workers – despite pressure from the Japanese. When armed bandit Kam Shan-chau (Louis Fan Sui-wong) robs his factory, Chow appeals to Ip for help. Ip agrees to teach his fellow workers Wing Chun skills to defend themselves. During the championship battle between the Chinese and the Japanese, Chow leads his workers in support of Ip on the streets of Foshan.
